Discovery Parks - Rockhampton

From before we even walked into reception the staff at discovery parks were fantastic. They were efficient and timely over the phone and email leading up to our stay. We just checked in to a huge 3 bedroom self contained cabin. Clean and with all the facilities you could need. The rooms were cooled perfectly and the beds made for us already. (Super soft and comfy beds). Can’t wait to try out the water playground, pools, tennis court, basketball ring, bikes and kids room. Close to the shops but quiet enough to hear the birds chirp. We just had 5 amazing days here while travelling for a wedding. Staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly Water park was loads of fun for the kids and also us adults. Super convenient and close to absolutely everything Only negative is room never got serviced. Had to go to reception several times for fresh towels But overall this was a fantastic park and we will definitely be back

We booked in to the cabins at Rockhampton, previously we have stayed at multiple discovery parks and always loved it. After checking in we went to our room, first let down was the exterior cleanliness, upon opening the doors we seen black mould all over the ceiling & air conditioning didn’t work. We then went to reception and advised of the mould & air conditioning not working. The staff was understanding & said they could change our cabin but again air conditioning didn’t work. Paying $260 a night you would expect at a minimum working air conditioning especially in 28+ heat. We then had to drive a further 300 kms for alternative accommodation. Also to top it off, the water park has all the locals there with their kids, we couldn’t use the facilities even if we wanted to as every seat was taken by locals that pay to use the water park rather then for the paying guests. VERY, Very disappointing. Won’t be back!

Ok positive the staff where friendly the showers and laundry are very clean and tidy. Where the caravans are the grass needs mowing and whipper snipered.. Around the pools need attention and mowing. The staff need to show people where to park on a caravan sit as we had to advise people where to park. The sun chairs need cleaning. Pool also needs a clean.Water park was fun great for kids.
